One unanswered question I still have from the webinar is when do the DWP notify HMRC of the start of pension/benefit? Is it just after the first payment or after the entitlement begins? For those who take their pensions 4 weekly or quarterly it would cause problems to wait until after the first payment is received.

I suspect that many individuals will use this as an excuse to "go off the radar" and never return!

Tax Return reminders
None of my client's have received a Tax Return reminder yet this year. Does anyone know if HMRC are issuing reminders this year?

AAM Issue Resolution Service
Has anyone used this service to try and get PAYE overpayment issue resolved?
I have been told that they have significant clout and can help with any "Client Specific" problem as long as an official complaint hasn't been made. You do need to register with the AAM service first.

PPR Relief changes
Does anyone know if there will be a transition phase for the PPR relief period change?
I have a client who moved into a care home in March 2012. Her property (a big house bought many years ago for very little) has been on the market since then but has failed to sell. The client and her family weren't too concerned as they thought they had plenty of time. However, this change implies that if the property is sold on 5 April 2014 any gain will be fully exempt and if it is sold on 6 April there will be a CGT liability. This seems very unfair as the client thought she had until March 2015 to sell and there is little chance of finding a buyer and exchanging contracts within the next 4 months.
