I just checked last year and that shows as "Tax (repayment)/paid," when in fact figures in brackets are tax due (net of deferred tax, eyeroll.jpg) and figures not in brackets are credits.
You need to just say what you've said here (without the bag of crap part!), more or less.
Be honest. "Either I can show you how to do it properly, or I will have to charge you for my time in correcting your errors."
I have always given my clients a price based on a certain standard of bookkeeping, and always given the caveat that any time spent correcting books not kept to a standard will be chargeable. In practice I'll do about an hour without charging, it depends who it is and the scope of the errors.
But essentially, you need to approach them and just tell them.
I use Capsule CRM and have for about 6+ years now. You need to tweak it for your own needs, but I find it really useful and comprehensive. It's scalable and well priced.
I got my documents back within about a week, or 2 at the outside.
It's annoying (more annoying that I had to pay £46 to DDC, as opposed to £20 to an online provider, as DDC are doing all the admin for AAT) but nothing to waste energy over.
My understanding is thatwe need to have a GDPR compliant privacy policy, which explains how we protect data, and this should be reflected in updated engagement letters.

Yes,. it's in that section. But instead of coming under that heading under Profit before tax, its showing as "Tax Repayment."
It's been posted against the Deferred Tax account on the balance sheet, which is displaying correctly.

I never submit returns without full payment. Since implementing that, I've never had a bad debt. Funny, that :)
