MTD filing was definitely down around 5pm but was back up and accepting MTD filings before 6pm and appears to be working now. It’s not clear whether it was just agents affected but it is a distinct possibility.
Can only suggest you keep trying - and if your software doesn’t store HMRC error messages take screen shots of the errors with a time & date stamp in case you have to appeal a late filing penalty.

24 hours behind - more like 120 hours.
Last Thursday (21/3) I called the VAT helpline to get put through to the MTD team (there is no direct phone line) and was told it is a 5 day callback - still waiting. Would also be nice if automated call system recognised “MTD” or “making tax digital”.

My understanding is that a client doesn’t need a BTA for an agent to file VAT returns on their behalf, but if they want to view any VAT filings / amend registration details they can only do this via a BTA (so will need a BTA)

If you can see the option to view "Submitted Returns" and then click on the "Previous returns" tab there is a link to the "old" HMRC VAT portal where you can access your VAT registration certificate. Be careful as seems that if you select the "previous returns" tab a 2nd time you get a "Page not found" message.
