Depending on age/attitudes will determine if spreadsheets are good or a bad thing. If the result are more accurate without a spreadsheet then surely why change the process ?
good luck with that . Its taken three months for them to reply to my one exemption request and I have about ten unanswered letters after ten weeks. If you want my advice write in as you have a hard record of whats happening and then file your VAT returns the old way, if you have signed your clients up for MTD then your stuffed !

I have everything in hand in readiness and have done what I need to do . Totally compliant with HMRC requested approach.
