I am still waiting for a response from HMRC to enable me to set up one of my clients for MTD for VAT as every time I tried to sign them up an error message stated " Sorry we are experiencing technical difficulties". That was on the 25th July and I am still awaiting their feedback.
So no, MTD not a success for me.
I have been trying to sign up my clients to MTD for VAT using the link on HMRC's website for about 10 days. I sign into my ASA and then it asks for my client's VAT no. It then asks to confirm the VAT no, and then everytime an error message comes up saying " We are experiencing technical difficulties, please try again later". I try to sign up my clients twice a day but the same thing happens.I have performed all the necessary steps up to this point and have copied all my clients across to the new ASA, but I cannot get past this point. I have contacted HMRC who did not have a solution. Does anyone know a way around this or is experiencing the same problems?
Great article- one of my clients bought a VW T6 Transporter without consulting me . The VW garage told him that it was a van, as they probably tell all their customers, who then get the unfortunate news that it is not a van for Income Tax purposes and thus, suffer the tax consequences. HMRC guidance is scant on their website.
However, the tribunals were considering a T5 combi so could a T6 be classified as a van? I doubt it as its probably the same method of construction.
Regarding the claim of A.I.A. presumably the 100% is not allowed and its the 8 / 18% C.A. that is claimable? Any one have any views / experience on this?
