I had a few of these CHAPS requests pertaining to be from a Director to me. They must have done some homework to establish the correct relationship.
Our Policy is to always gain verbal authorisation for these CHAPS and, also, for bank details changes, to phone the supplier (to suppliers number in the system, not on the letter) to get confirmation it is genuine.
I did respond to an email a month ago playing along (they say you shouldn't do this but I wanted to flush them out) The bank account they wanted the money paid to was Lloyds in West Brom. All info was passed on to Action Fraud which I hope enabled them to find the person through bank records.
Make sure you report all instances to Action Fraud - they do take it seriously.
Remember they only need to be successful once- I recall the company who lost £1m to a scam - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11878125/Business-scammed-i...

Hopefully, it will all be back on line when they say it will. If not, be quick with your calls to HMRC on Monday as they'll be on strike at 1pm! You couldn't make it up!

A long shot but the rate of VAT might come down to stimulate the economy.
And cigarettes and alcohol tax/duty will go up

Sometimes experiences are worth more than money - the whole experience was one the country will never forget, it was magical and I'm proud of our country and what we achieved. I'm sure tourism and business will benefit from our country being showcased so well for many years to come.
At least my taxes were used on something special, worthwhile and of benefit to me for once.

I recently read the book 'How to win friends and influence people' and it really made me think about the way we should interact for the better. It ties in nicely with the 'thanking rule'. If you've not read the book, I'm sure we can all get something positive from it.

I qualified CIMA in 2006. I worked late most days in a demanding role and studied at college Saturdays or Sundays. I don't think this has changed much to this day, it's always been this way! Why should it be easy!?
My girlfriend is currently doing Strategic Level CIMA. The syllabus content contains all that I studied back in 2006 so it's the same level. She sat resits which were done on PC in a controlled Exam Centre and there is a whole new sophistication of online studying resources available so I'd say this aspect makes it easier and more flexible.

Multi vit tablets
I sometimes dabble with Centrum Performance when I'm feeling weary. It is a mutli vit with added Ginseng and Ginkgo Biloba. I like to think it helps in a little way.

Everyone's experience is different
My view is, yes, 1st time passes are great but everyone will have different pressures and responsibities if they are working. Someone managing a team of 4 in a very busy role and then having to take all 4 final papers at once (like me) is far different to someone in a lower level role, in at 9 and straight out the door at 5 on the dot who can allocate far more time to studying.
I didn't pass the final paper 1st time but had achieved a 4th place commendation in a prior paper which I believe has similar value.
Work experience and achievements are more mportant than 1st time passes I reckon as they show what you have done in the real world , not just that you are good at passing exams.

There's a lot to be said for power napping, backed up by scientific research. A 20 minute power nap is the optimum. Shut your door and blinds, turn off the phone, set your alarm for 20 mins and listen to some relaxation sounds in headphones. Wake up refreshed! http://ririanproject.com/2007/09/05/10-benefits-of-power-napping-and-how-to-do-it/
