The time and money would be better spent on sorting out HMRC and making sure everyone gets back to working in the office.
Filed a CT600 in June 2023 for 2022 accounts and it has taken them nearly 6 months to realise that the previous accountant had not filed the CT600 for 2020 and 2021 and they are hoping MTD will work!!!!!!!!!!!
Computer system designed by F****su??
So one wonders where all the money these sub-postmasters paid to the post office went, did anyone check where it went or was it just into the coffers of the Post Office to boost
profits and then bonuses paid to the people hiding the errors in the software?
Of course Auditors are not to blame are they, or are they?
Head in the sand situation?
HMRC want us to use online systems so used online to set up a PAYE scheme for November payment and when I chase them was told it could be end of December before we received tax references to be able to file RTI.
Oh to be able to speak to a human and be given the references immediately as in the old days ( May 2023 that is)
So does this mean we can all stop filing accounts until the Government get their act together and who will pay any penalties for not filing accounts, if any?
He was employed to do a job and is now retiring so why is he getting an additional pay off unless someone wrote it into his contract and now we are left with paying him who knows what for what?
Some transparency needed here.
This is a joke, the staff are working from home and take forever, over 45 minutes, if you are lucky to have the phone picked up.
Everyone else seems to be back in the office except HMRC and Companies House who have not even opened their offices to the public who they serve, talk about calling the kettle black!!
Think they are all taking a long holiday at our expense and answer phones whenever they are not drinking coffee and chatting to friends.
"There are certain categories of taxpayer who are prevented from filing their personal tax returns online, for example taxpayers who have special security concerns, such as MPs and senior members of the armed services. These individuals normally have their tax affairs dealt with by HMRC’s Public Department 1 and are exempt from the requirement to file online."
So HMRC systems are not deemed secure for these people but are for your genersl public. Makes you wonder who really does see to the security of HMRC information.
Bad enough at the moment trying to contact HMRC on the Agent Help Line which now takes up to 30 mins to connect to someone working from home, why are they working from home when everyone else is back in the office.
Makes you wonder if they are working or sitting drinking coffe and chatting with friends!!
Confiedence in HMRC security now at rock bottom after seeing this.
Another headling gimick thought up by someone in a cupboard at No 11 to justify his inflation linked salary and Pension which he can now contribute an extra £20k into.

If the online system worked then fine, last 2 online applications i tried both failed and had to submit paper application.
Poor or no testing of the system as usual

A typical example of do as I say not as I do
