Wow, 6 companies and you do it all in-house and from the wording mainly Excel?
Talk about making a rod for your own back.
Not clear but I would with haste convert the whole accounting to a cloud based accounting software (QuickBooks/Xero)
Most AP software will import direct from those 2 making AP a doddle. I have used Keytime (good product at the time but Iris....), Digita (Very good but all desktop) and currently Capium (it has it quirks) fully cloud.
No faffing with iXBRL and you can give an external accountant/tax guy access so not emailing TB's. Off course all the packages mentioned will give TB and a click with drill down facility.
Excel... do they still use a quill?

I would not let an employee use their own equipment. As another poster has said too risky. I would supply them a laptop for business use only with all the required software on it including anti-virus and (am not too technical) limiting sites etc.
That said if you can pay a tax free 45p per mile for business use why can you not pay a tax free amount for an employee using their own equipment?
I just cannot see how a business use payment can be a benefit.

COS = dividends. Had a client like that for a very short time. Did a MLR but nothing happenned to him (he is still active on social media and company is still trading putting in bogus financials). So was a waste of time.
He also paid his wife's dissolved company consultancy fees.

A bit low. Would expect to pay £15+ depending on speed and quality.
I have paid up to £25 per hour for a good bookkeeper.
If in an accountancy form the boss charges out at 3x salary. If he charges £80 like I have seen many charge out rates he is living of you. Even at 4x the pay should be £20.
Note the foregoing does not apply if employer also pays for training with time spent on training in-house and the like.

The OP has a point on it not being discussed but really? The OP expects the fee to remain as is for years? Does his business keep the same price of 4+ years ago.
So OP must take some responsibility but probable wont. He lost me when he said he pays enough as it is. The OP just fell in the same category as my D clients (Of which I have none as I will not tolerate a client who thinks so little of my services)

Just moved from Digita to Capium. Literally this week. But played with it and it looks fine. Needs some further work but as a small practice features are fine.

So no partnership agreement. Typical.
But am with John Groganjga on this.

Happens often in many countries. Sometimes unwittingly, at times not meant but it happens.
Select which battles you want to commence.
Personally I would rather protest at what happened to Floyd. Thats a battle worth fighting.
