To add to that Johnjenkins I'd also say that the 'point' of MTD was to allow HMRC to sort it's brown-stuff out and have systems for the next 20 years.

You could well be right. I'm just trying to see if the experiences of others heralds clues as to how things can develop.
Although I couldnt predict a timeline, nor HMRC policy/competency, I would come down on the side of those who might say 'inevitable over time' or at the very least 'thin end of the wedge'

As long as there is genuine useful utility to be had by being on a mobile that's great. It doesn't necessarily mean that you need 'an app for that'.
Creating a meaningful experience (ie not wanting to delete it, or throw your phone in the bin in frustration) is not always successfully done.
So - inherently useful, easy to use, focused, and regularly updated are pretty good yard sticks. Everything else is probably nice fluff or a highly addictive game (take yer pick)
