Exactly this. I set up my firm to improve the balance of work and family life. I didn't have trouble finding clients, despite not doing networking in the traditional way. I've not wanted to grow the firm beyond a certain level, and have turned many potential clients away over the years.

However saying that it is impossible to find a solution that is completely fair for everyone, and some income is better than none.
I'm beginning to think I should have gone into IT as a career given my IT clients can earn at least double my fee per hour, and they don't have the compliance and regulatory burdens accountants do.
I think there my be some disruption with Brexit in the short term, but nobody is talking about the risks of staying in Europe. The Eurozone has significant economic problems and if Italy needs bailing out there will be lots of pressure on EU members and taxpayers to step in. Plus Europe wants more federalism not less, I can't see that going down well with the British public.
