64-8 v online authorisation
Anyone had any recent experience of HMRC not speaking to you if you don't have a 64-8? I found in the past that online authorisation wasn't enough for dealing with VAT and payroll enquiries. However online authorisation was fine for self assessment enquiries.
I watched one of their webinars this week. They seem to be quite pro active regarding Auto Enrolment - there are several webinars on their website. I don't actually use Bright Pay so can't comment on what it is like to use.
CIMA MIP Group Linkedin
It may be worth posting on the above group. I'm sure someone local will come forward.
I post any advance income as an overpayment - it will then appear on their balance.
Another irritating thing is that on the bank rec if you have any credit notes on the account you have to link the credit notes to the invoices first and then do the reconciliation.
I've only been using Xero for a couple of months but that's what I've discovered so far!
I've had the problem with VAT as well as payroll.
Capitalise under leasehold improvements and then depreciate over the remaining term of the lease.
BTC compared to Taxcalc
I currently use TaxCalc and I like the 'simple step' method which guides you through inputting the information. Is BTC like this or are you left to input directly into the boxes? I previously used Ftax which was simply inputting into a pdf and I hated it.
I know that alot of people rave about BTC so I will review it next year.
Thanks it's just come through.
I registered for this several days ago (and again this morning) but I haven't received the reminder e mail and the link to the webinar. Can you check it out for me - Thanks.
Caunce O Hara
I pay £160 for £250k of cover with Caunce O Hara. I did previously use Trafalger who were recommended by CIMA but they were a bit more expensive.
