If your company is involved in developing or improving new products, services, materials, devices etc (incl. software) then you might be able to recover some of those costs. We have helped circ. 15,000 companies to date prepare & file R&D tax credit claims. Please free to contact me for a short, informal, no pressure Q&A. Even if you have been claiming successfully you never know we might be able to help you in some way.
My addition to the above would be to get a specialist firm to do this checking. From our own experience we know that companies often grapple with various aspects of the claim process - i.e. identifying & qualifying the eligible R&D (the rules change/all claims are different etc.).
Even those companies that have been claiming ‘successfully’ for years often miss valuable opportunities so it may be worth having a short Q&A with a specialist. Most will do this initial contact free and can be later engaged on a contingency basis so there should be minimal barriers to stop a company from checking their position.
