Google are the second biggest advertsing group in the world. They make a living off information in an even bigger way than Amazon. Every key-stoke within a Chrome browser, every 'google' search, every purchase is monitored by this guys. So I'm afraid I don't buy for one minute that they are not creaming off information from everything stored on their systems and using it or selling it on. And as for information subject to US jurisdiction, it is my understanding that any data help by an American company, whether in the US or not, is subject to the Patriots Act, making it penetrable by any US government agency.
In my humble opinion, we are much safer chosing trusted British companies with proper security policies who manage our data within the UK when we are making decisions about who hosts our accounting software.

I'm not sure I was suggesting that their web services are not secure. My point is that they are a huge advertising group who make vast amounts of money by knowing who wants what, when, where and why. They may not 'lose' your data, but that's not to say they will not 'use' your data.

Check out Online50. They've been rpoviding Sage 50 hosted since 2001. They data never leaves the UK and it is full version Sage 50 Accounts - any version from 8.1 to v2017. And a normal Sage backup can be restored straight to their service. Worth a look.
