The outrage on this is very telling of how the >millennial generations see FB.
The activists in my generation and post have been fighting against this type of modding for years, and it is repeatedly been chastised as a SWM-led organisation that couldn't give a shoot about social responsibility. Did you know that black women especially need to type out yt because writing 'white people' is instantly removed? People lose their accounts constantly because they speak out against blatant racism. Pictures of breastfeeding are insulting enough to be removed but a dadbod with two veg out spread eagle at the beach is a-ok.
Does this doc surprise me? Not in the slightest.
Is FB going to change? Not in the slightest.
Should you advertise on FB & Instagram? Well, probably. But forget about social responsibility; it's been shady since Zuccs got the first $$$.
What I find most surprising is Sainsbury's letting this go through.
Most shops know this kind of scam is prevalent and actively try to prevent it. I know that Argos at least has a script that the cashiers have to go through before they can release a large number of such vouchers, just because this happens a lot. Not that the blame lies within Sainsbury's at all, I'm just... surprised.
Does she store the data? As that doesn't have specific rules set in law, surely she is deciding on how the information is processed and thus liable to register?
If you want to get through on the phone, the best time is between 10 and 11am I've found.
Don't hold your breath waiting on a resolve though; we're going on 28 months with disputes on charges mysteriously disappearing, letters not being received and interest and charges getting added, one dispute being resolved and suddenly the next month has the exact same discrepancy where there hasn't been one in three years.
I'm very much in Manchester_man's camp here - as much of an annoyance as Sage desktop is, I can do a batch entry and it takes me about 15 minutes to push through our invoices for the day, half an hour for the AP person (lord knows what they're doing to spend that long, but that's another issue...). Moving to cloud, I have to put every.each.invoice in separately, and whereas there's positives (I can do approvals at the same time so it removes the need to have paper copies), it takes such a long time. We can't use OCR due to the nature of our business, so we have to manually enter every invoice separately. That, or buy a bit of kit that does it from *gasp* excel upload!
North of the Wall. After the oil crash, it's an employers' market out there; salaries have fallen by half (what FQ accountant will work as an FC for £35k?!) and it's a slog. A friend took a year to find a position, and I know people coming from a Big4 background working in Aldi.
Two months is pretty much nothing in this climate...
Are you looking for junior roles? Accounts assistant/admin, AP etc where you get your foot in the door and get going. Usually the likes of assistant accountant/accountant roles are going to look for experience [talking from the industry side] which you can't generally get unless you get going with the "grunt" work.
Also, are you currently employed? It's easier to get employed if you're already employed which is stupid in itself. So even if you can get yourself to temp roles [preferably in AP etc but any office work will do], it'll help your applications.
If they're still sending stuff supposedly due to GDPR, surely that makes them already in breach? They should've got their act together in the two years they had..
Most mine stopped on the 25th, but I still get fantastic offers on how to extend my member, and hundreds of ladies yearning for my company. Other than that, my inbox is nice and quiet!
I'm a bit late to the party, but I am here to confess my love for BPP. I find their materials concise and easy to understand, and their online classrooms are fabulous! I tried Kaplan for CIMA and found it to be a complete waste of money, and re-purchased the same from BPP. (And if they don't want to do an online classroom, you can find the books used for cheap, which is a bonus!)
So, correct me if I'm wrong but the customs procedure to Switzerland is treated as if they are in the EU - in that case you wouldn't be listing delivery costs on the commercial invoice (packaging would though). I would personally add design costs to the commercial invoice, but you'd have to check with the Switzerland customs on the procedure. The key word here being 'value' - commercial invoice should state the value of the goods, and the goods will have a value without the installation & transport costs. I would think design is inherent in the value of the goods.
Commercial invoice in my head is less accounting-related, more customs.

They're a joy to work with. /s

Saying that, so would I with their salaries.
