All I can say is that all of my clients who have dabbled in this over the last few years have incurred losses to date.
Some have cashed out, other are sticking with it, but it seems an unreliable investment at best.
If there is the ability to influence it via media posts then surely it should become un-investable? Akin to investing in the outcome of Love Island perhaps!
Get your price structure right from the start. It’s easy to be a busy fool, wondering why you are always working, but still not making much money.
Make sure clients know from the outset that you will be charging them for extras such as letters, references, CGT calculations etc. These things are more time-consuming than you think.
2 still waiting on UTRs, but they know they will incur penalties, 1 not responded to our weekly reminders since November. And one took it to the wire on paying us first, despite being told this was a requirement of filing - prat.
Definitely the most relaxed year so far. We had a concerted campaign to get director tax returns filed as soon as the company accounts were done, and also started our sole trader reminders back in July. The latter was less successful, but it did lead to less of a January bottleneck.
Yes, I was short on time so couldn’t faff around any longer and took the quickest option. I will try again though and contact Sage support if it won’t load - I just need to wait for a nice quiet day when I don’t already feel frazzled before I start!
I had to install v29 on a separate computer as it just wouldn’t install on my main one. Seemed to be something clashing with the other versions of Sage on there and preventing it fully loading.
Really, really irritating.
Having worked in the hospitality business myself, a cash tip was always appreciated as it meant we got to keep it. Tips paid via card always seemed to ‘disappear’ somehow. I still always make sure I have enough cash when on a night out to tip the staff separately from the main bill.

So he’s just paid a bit early for next year then.

.....produced manure that was excellent for growing stuff, especially roses. The sweet smell of success perhaps?
