We've been using Wufoo forms for tax questionnaires, up until now.
Works well as, when a form is completed, it gets emailed to whoever you like in your firm. Nice an easy to save a PDF onto the clients file.
You can also get clients to attach documents you need and it has intelligent questioning so that the client only sees the questions they need (so if they answer no to something, the supplemental questions are hidden)
We've run entirely on broadband/ VOIP for years with very few issues.
If the broadband goes down, we just plug a 3G dongle into the router and we are up and running again.
We are just about to get a 2nd line so we can split voice and data. We've had no issues so far, but it always worries me that the more people we add, the more likely issues will start to happen
The person you spoke to is incorrect. You can either import contacts from Xero or you can import from a csv file if you're not planning on using Xero as your practice accounting software
When we produces tax cards, no clients looked at them
When we had tax rates and whizzy calculators on websites, no clients looked at them
I suspect the same would happen if we had an app!
If the app had some real benefit to it, then maybe I'd think differently. Perhaps pushing deadline reminders and when to pay their tax bills etc would be valuable.
Be careful if you're posting this generic content to your blog. As I understand it, Google actually penalises duplicate content, so if other firms are also using it for blogs, you could actually be harming your ranking
My answers
I agree with John.
Sounds like the Accountant you've moved to is all about appearing self-righteous, rather than doing the best by his client (you).
How's he going to be if there's a real issue you need his support with?
Maybe you need to move accountant again, to one that's more supportive
Nothing needs to change...I'm just always open to looking at new alternatives :)

Not as sexy as Thypeform though :)
We are up north and I'd be charging more than that.
Accounts & CT, around £1800. I'd consider £1500 ok if we were doing the bookkeeping
Purchase invoices at 400 per quarter would be £2,000
Payroll, same as you as Directors SATR's, same as you provided there were no rental properties etc.
I notice you haven't quoted for bank reconciliations in the bookkeeping?
If they are doing that bit, why not introduce them to Receipt Bank (or similar) and knock £1200 off your quote

Odd that if you overpay CT they refund by cheque
We use something similar, Signable.
It's brilliant. We've cut down the average times to get a document signed from weeks to hours.
Going to try the templates features next year to capture tax return info
