I have filed about ten appeals against penalties for late 2016/17 partnership returns. In all these cases, the partnership ceased during 2015/16 as was clearly noted on the return.

also needs to go under 'services we cannot provide'.
'Dear Mr Whatsit, the reason we did not include your £3k of bank interest on your return which HMRC are enquiring into is because at no point did you indicate that you had this income'.

It is my personal belief that I could write 'I am a tangerine' 200 times in many client letters and they would never notice. Sadly the partner won't let me.

Has anyone else found the service to be Dead Slow?
I sent in a trust return online on 5 June. It apparently still has not been processed since a statement requesting a second payment on account was recently sent out despite the fact that the trust was wound up in the year and the first POA covers the liability.

A preposterous number of error messages requiring us to down tools and dig out the exceptions/workarounds list.

Jenny, I am so sorry this happened to you.
I took ATT in 2000 and CTA in 2003 on computer since I have some grip in my hand but not enough for 3 hours of writing. I have a connective tissue disorder and the situation is extremely unlikely to improve - did my degree finals in 1998 on the computer and actually dictated some of my first year papers since was too ill to type.
The ATT and CIOT did ask for doctors' letters and so on and I had to go to HQ in London, and have an invigilator all to myself, but certainly they let me do it without my having to make much of a fuss. However, I most certainly would have made one if necessary and I imagine my then employers would have backed me up.
