I was told by a retired police detective that when he started asking questions of a suspect to a robbery he was answered that his late father had always told him -
"Ask no questions, told no lies".
The thief eventually got a community order and a minor fine for walking out of The Rose And Crown without paying for his pint of Trophy.

take him to the boozer, buy him a few beers with snaps chasers and tell him as youdrive him home. best as you cover him with sheets - they say that this is the time he will remember best that you told him. the fact you got him home should stop any bad feeling. remember, however the receptacle toput beside the bed. call him the following morning all bright and cheery and talk about something of a friendship level - how the football or test is going or about skittles or the dominoe league at t' pub. believe me this sort of approach will work.

do judges have the benefit of allowances for cleaning and maintenance of their robes? the whole issue concerning this most worthy thread relies on the cost of the blue whitener. cleanliness is next to holiness. there should be no distinction between the porcinary species or those comprising of the genus humanicatus - there is a rightful law passed in the heiracy of Brussels. chanel for all (is that allowable?)

the cost varies greatly. working with pigs involves the use not only of fragrent enhanced detergent but also it has to be bleach washed. cows, however have a more acceptable smell and the addition of pasture green additive is less necessary if still desirable. no doubt the accountant who posted this question will wish to take into consideration the fact or not wether his client runs the washing machine with solar panel, wind energy or conventional sources of electricity assuming of course he/her does not do the weekly on the banks of the river with the rib board or even with a burco. interesting to note that if he lives with his mother, he can put board and lodging allowance against his taxable income.

Company directors and v.a.t.
If a director is buying goods through a limited company to avoid payment of v.a.t., is it the company (which is a farming company)that is liable or the director for the fraud and subsequent payment for the tax.. The director is the only active one of three and signs the annual accounts.Depending on the answer to the question, will the director have his name published?

But be aware that most countries have a double tax treaty with the u.k. if you file a tax return as a tax resident of a new country you may have to pay CGT in that new home. See a professional.

Collectors re-open company
Came across a case recently of interest as of arms legth association with the defenders.
Car dealership put into administration after substantial losses following purchase within 18 months.
Five years later, HMRC ends up taking the directors to High Court re vat. At the door in pre-trial hearing, HMRC agrees to let the company be re-instated for purposes of vat collection only.
the accountants of the firm, of which the directors/shareholders had close professional ties, were in trouble in a big way.
Someone had probably whistleblown.
Above worth consideration.
(Believe case called HMRC v.Gillitts et al. Dockets etc. not public record but outline of case available due to trial being avoided.)
