Have you thought about Andica payroll? I have used it for several years. The cost is reasonable for an annual licence, and includes updates, no limit to the number of companies or employees. I also use their partnership return software, self-assessment software and CT600 software. All very good
Why not discuss the problem with an HMRC inspector. I usually find them very helpful
I have only just seen this discussion, so am a bit late in commenting. However my comments might be more up to date.
First of all I would say that the support is better than I have come across with other packages - ask a question on the chat option and an answer or further discussion is there in about 5 minutes.
Pandle is simple to use and I am slowly putting all clients onto it. I also offer a bookkeeping service and it was easy enough to add an assistant to the user base. I tend to use the download options into CSV format as this includes entry numbers (invaluable for amendments) whereas the pdf version does not. There is a very good filter option on the "view Transactions" tab where entries can be defined for the user. All in all a very good package
Surely if the 10 April payday relates to money earned in March then it is 18/19 when 18/19 pay rates will also apply
I received the first couple on 2nd March for trading years ended 28 February. I received another couple on spreadsheets a few days later - all spreadsheeted and drafted. I like to use HMRC software where possible as it is cheaper for the client. However I cannot draft at present because they are not ready, perhaps I will make the move to commercial software now!!
Have you thought of working for yourself on a self-employed basis? It takes a long time to get sufficient clients but you do avoid all the office politics which is what I suspect you dislike. Neither do you feel the need to complete with others - just do the work at a reasonable price.
Haven't used one in years, although printers still seem to offer that option. I find it much easier to scan and email. I suppose the advantage would be if you have a printer that does not have a sheet feeder.
