Hi Glenn
I enjoyed reading your summary of Accountex, it certainly sounded like you where very busy!
I loved your roller skates comment, 60,000 steps in three days certainly prove that!
I wanted to say thank you for your refreshingly honest support and feedback and thank you for always being on hand to help me out when I need a little guidance. It is not forgotten!
We certainly did take all your feedback on board, including the positive feedback also. I did respond to your post in case you did not see it too - its the REALLY long response!
Spot on suggestion, and i wish we could get your mother in law in to do it! wouldn't that be so much easier!
The venue where incredibly strict with the catering we have to use their in house catering team and the options where limited and very expensive! :0( We event tried to do a buy out and go to Pret!, but we weren't allowed
Your idea would have been perfect but we have restrictions unfortunetely :(
Spot on suggestion, and i wish we could get your mother in law in to do it! wouldn't that be so much easier!

A Great round up of Accountex Summit North - and I am sure having Accounting Web as one of our most important media partners played a big part in its success!
Thank you
Zoe here from Accountex. Sorry this will be a long one but please bear with me........
Happy to hear all opinions about our shows. If we always got offended we wouldn’t be able to develop the show. When you have between 1000-7000 visitors there will always be different feedback so we are all ears!
Thank you for the negative and positive feedback whoever you are.
To improve, it is beneficial to listen and if we can develop the shows to make them better for delegates to attend - then listening is what we try to do.
Neophyte - Yes it was a little harsh but appreciate you agreeing to that also! and I 100% agree on your comment on the theatres :0)
FirstTab - thank you for amending your original posted remark, and you are right its good to read all perspectives as well as the ones you like. The link to these remarks above was posted on a conversation in LinkedIn about the show, so it may be someone on there wanting to express their own feedback perhaps?
Thank you Accountinghero for your feedback too and glad you enjoyed it!
We did receive a lot of positive feedback but we will always accept that not every one from the 1,000 that attended will have enjoyed it.
We cannot wait to get stuck in next year as there are many things we need to change and tweak, starting on the theatres!
We are the facilitators who create shows for the Accountancy profession - and we have to listen to make sure it is enjoyable and relevant for everyone!
When we have received negative feedback in the past I have normally found a lot of benefit from speaking to them directly. Elaine Clark from Cheap Accounting is the perfect example after a few negative comments about woman speakers. Anyway after a great conversation the Hot Topics was created at Manchester and now London targeted at sole practitioners and woman in finance, as we have not historically catered for them properly in the past.
Also I would like to explain the cancellation charge. It was free of charge to delegates to attend but as we where providing coffee and lunch for all visitors and exhibitors (£25 plus A head ) we needed to be sure if those who where actually going to turn up. So we encouraged those who could not make it to let us know , and it also encouraged those who wasn’t by saying that there would be a fee of £100. All those that contacted us before and on the day will not be charged. It’s a way to help us know the actual numbers more than anything.
Neophyte - It would be great to catch up and hear your thoughts in more details, so that if you ever attend again your blog may be more positive?
My answers
