The self assessment deadline puts a lot of strain on accountants and tax agents. The excessive hours and workload at some firms during December and January can affect practitioners’ health, relationships, motivation and longterm productivity.
Throughout February 2020, we surveyed AccountingWEB users on their experiences during the last self assessment season.
42% of respondents said the January rush went better than last year, with 31% reporting that it was the same as usual. These figures represent a significant improvement in how tax season felt compared to 2016, when 25% of firms said their experiences had improved.
