What AccountingWEB says
Spotlight Reporting set the template for add-on reporting and analysis apps when accountant Richard Francis decided in 2014 to design a program to support his “virtual CFO” engagements. Spotlight tackles all the core reports businesses of all sizes usually need.
The suite is built around four modules: reporting; historical management; forecasting and dashboards that are all fed by live data from bookkeeping systems such as Xero and QuickBooks, which can be analysed and presented alongside data from other sources. Spotlight Reporting is is particularly good at turning out regular management reporting packs for business clients who want simple updates on their performance against budget, but can also cater for those who want more searching and proactive advice.
Having set the early pace in the cloud reporting add-on market, Spotlight is now coming under pressure from rivals offering more flexible and visual reporting, forecasting and analysis tools.
