PPR and job related accommodation

SP posed a question regarding job related accommodation in his query of 21 November 2006. His client owned (and presumably occupied) his only residence until 1980 when he was required to move to Northern Ireland for a university post. Subsequently he was sent by the Inspectorate of Schools to Devon and occupied a rented property there. He subsequently purchased the rental property in 1987. He has now sold his original residence, having never re-occupied it. Until some point between 1984 and 1987 he had intended to return to his original residence.
