Dundee businessman jailed for VAT fraud

A Dundee businessman, who pleaded guilty to using seven aliases to commit a £166,000 VAT fraud, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after an investigation by HMRC.

Brinner Frank Patino Sabando of Dundee registered a company, Fresca Ltd, using aliases, and then lied to reclaim VAT he wasn’t entitled to. The company provided water coolers to businesses, HMRC said.
