PPR: What you need to know

We all know that the British have two obsessions - the weather and house prices, writes Jennifer Adams.

George Osborne proved it to be his number one (voting) priority by the measures announced in the Budget. 

Never mind that various commentators are calling for the housing market to find its own level and that house prices have gone virtually nowhere over the past two years, if the price of our house is not rising month on month, we feel hard done by.

Property prices have dipped in the recession but most people who own their own homes...
