The winner of AccountingWEB’s Budget 2012 sweepstake can now be revealed as tax manager Helen Gale of top 20 accountancy firm Haines Watts.

Earlier this week Bristol-based Gale dropped by Sift Media’s offices to collect her winnings – an iPad 3, straight from the factory just weeks after it was launched on the UK market.

Gale correctly guessed that the Chancellor would say the word “tax” 97 times during his Budget speech.

After taking in the news, she said: “I think it’s probably the best thing I’ve ever won in a competition.  It has already been hi-jacked by my children though I do intend for it to be ‘mine’!”

Gale works as a tax manager for Haines Watts Bristol which is based in Clifton and offers services to owner managed businesses and high net worth individuals.

Their focus is supporting the Bristol regional business community with tax and business advice, as well as assistance with accounting and VAT planning.

She explained that as they run an owner managed business themselves, they can empathise with their clients.

It’s a small office of 13 staff although it forms part of a much larger network of the Haines Watts Group, whose motto is: “Local Matters, National Strength”.
