Telecoms giant Vodafone made a multimillion pound settlement with HMRC in 2009 regarding tax returns at an Irish subsidiary, according to The Guardian.
The paper reported that Vodafone used its Vodafone Ireland Marketing Ltd subsidiary to collect hundreds of millions of pounds per year in royalty payments from operating companies and joint ventures using its brand. Accounts filed in Dublin by Vodafone show the company made a settlement with HMRC in 2009 over Irish tax returns. The size of the settlement was not disclosed, but The Guardian reported
