At a time when farmers and just about every other business are going to be dealing with the opportunities and challenges of Bexit, the Government want to introduce unnecessary legislation in the form of MTD which will impose huge administrative burdens and will probably cause many of those businesses to fail.
What a bunch of clowns we have Governing us.
The problem is that those that govern really believe that MTD will lessen the burden. Read Gorks (sic) January 16 piece in This is Money http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/comment/article-3414649/DAVID-GAUKE-M...
The software vultures haven't helped. I notice that many have email support instead of telephone now. It's not the governments job to train for this and not the software companies either. Bit like HMRC and Concentrix buck passing already.

The problem here is that the Government are specifying the way that Accounting Records are to be kept so they do have the primary responsibility to ensure that the software is available, works properly, is fully supported and is free or cheap to those who are forced to use it.
The responsibility of ensuring that MTD works properly and that we are actually able to comply with the requirements, is very clear to me. There can be no doubt that this lies with the Government and no one else.
