The Edinburgh firm garnered almost two-thirds of the vote as it won the bookkeeping award for the fourth time in five years.
Its presence in the burgeoning bookkeeping market has increased since its acquisition by NatWest Group in 2018 and is currently available free for all the bank’s business account holders.
While size of the customer base is important in a competitive field, FreeAgent has set out its stall when it comes to providing user support. Product support is one of the strongest factors in the software satisfaction equation and this quality has served FreeAgent well over the past few years when it comes to awards season.
While the majority of the larger players in the bookkeeping world are accounted for in the results table, most saw their share of the vote fall. While having a larger share of the market is undoubtedly good for business. it can also lead to higher customer expectations - and louder complaints when things go wrong, as companies such as Microsoft and Facebook have experienced in the wider software world
