With anti-money laundering (AML) checks a topic of constant conversation in the accounting industry, Capium has released three new checks within its AML module.
UK company check: This includes the following information where available – company summary, identification, credit score, credit limit, contact information, director details, share capital structure, group structure, financial statements, profit and loss account, balance sheet, ratios, negative information (county court judgments (CCJs), bankruptcies), payment information, company status (dissolution, compulsory strike off, winding up and so on), filing history (returns, appointments and so on) and web address. It is available for £6 + VAT per check.
Credit screen: This check screens UK residents for CCJs, bankruptcies, individual voluntary arrangements (IVAs) and Scottish equivalents. It is available for £2 + VAT per check.
International ID check: This checks non-UK residents against HMT, UN, EU and OFAC sanctions lists and global PEP lists (including UK domestic), with optional document checks including passports and EU ID cards. This check can also be used if users wish to validate documents. It is available for £2 + VAT per check.
Other checks are available as part of Capium’s overall AML package, and users can also see which checks have been made and by whom, offering an AML audit trail.
Charity updates
Originally launched in May this year, Capium’s Charity Accounts module currently caters to both unincorporated charities and charitable incorporated organisations (CIOs) registered with the Charity Commission. The developer hopes to include other types over time.
Accountants can prepare annual accounts via Capium’s charity software, and then download and submit them to the Charities Commission.
Since its launch, the developer has added several new features to the product, including a new PDF writer tool to add personalisation for charities. This allows users to generate accounts in a PDF format and add custom elements, write notes and remove items.
Another new feature in the donations section is the ability to track how many donors have made Gift Aid declarations and make Gift Aid submissions to HMRC.
Capium’s original bookkeeping engine has been re-engineered to incorporate fund accounting for charities, so users raising an invoice can select the applicable fund type (restricted, unrestricted, endowment and so on). Users can also create their own fund name labels and track each individual fund. The bookkeeping engine can then combine any relevant funds and put the trial balance into the accounts production system.
Pricing for Capium’s Charity Accounts Module starts at £204 for the year based on 0–10 clients.
