FreeAgent built support for subcontractors’ CIS reports into the cloud accounting system’s mobile app.
FreeAgent has recently added Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) functionality to Android and iOS versions of it mobile app to let subcontractors create and edit CIS invoices from their smartphones.
FreeAgent introduced CIS functionality to the browser version in May, allowing sole traders and limited company subcontractors to create CIS invoices and account for deductions. The CIS enhancement to FreeAgent Mobile is the latest stage in an overhaul to FreeAgent, which the company says is now used by 20% of its customers.
Last month it added estimating and billing tools to a system that also supports time tracking, expenses management, tax notifications, bulk banking transactions, IR35 reporting for contractors and payroll filing.
“What we’re starting to see is that some clients are using mobiles as their only form of interaction with FreeAgent. That got us thinking about how we could extend the capability to make it a complete mobile app,” said FreeAgent chief product officer Roan Lavery.
“We've spent the past year redesigning and evolving our iOS and Android apps to make it easier for clients to perform all their important financial ‘quick tasks’ on the go.”
