We may have mentioned it before, but thought it was worth reminding ExcelZone readers that Thursday 17 October is Spreadsheet Day.
It’s hard to pin down exactly who inaugurated this famous holiday, but as Debra Dalgleish explains in her Spreadsheet Day blog, the event celebrates the joy and challenges of working with spreadsheets. The 17th of October was chosen because it was the day the first spreadsheet, VisiCalc, was released in 1979.
But if you’re in the mood for more varied reading, Debra’s own highlights of the year’s spreadsheet tweets is an entertaining diversion, and elsewhere she suggests a selection from the year’s best blogs and articles, which include a contribution for AccountingWEB’s Not Just Numbers blogger Glen Feechan.
That lot should keep you occupied for a bit, and Excel Zone will be around to keep you nourished with tutorials and news until Spreadsheet Day next year.
