Prosper is the brainchild of Visionary Accountants founder Chris Wallace, who wanted an integrated, cloud system that could manage workloads and scheduling, and communications with prospects and clients at his rapidly growing firm.

He teamed up with financial software developer Ryan Franklin-Smith in 2015 to pursue his idea and launched Prosper on to the market in late 2016.

“Practice management is beginning to look like a crowded space, but when you look under the bonnet, they’re CRM systems that have been developed by techies for accountants,” he said. “Prosper has been developed by accountants from the inside out.”

Prosper has been designed to address those weak spots and the developers sat alongside the team at Visonary to ensure the system caters for their day-to-day requirements.

Product overview

The main Prosper screen is set out like a Kanban index card holder that steps the user through each work process to achieve these workflow goals.

It also includes a scheduling calendar that can be filtered to see what different teams will be working on in the next week or month. To foster collaboration, clients can access their own work schedules and get alerts from Prosper when they need to do something.

The client onboarding process pulls all of these ingredients together into one of the strongest sections of the program.

Prosper includes features that will appeal to mid-size and larger, more sophisticated firms. It is priced according to the number of clients supported rather than users, which could make it less attractive to smaller firms. The first 15 clients are free, and the price ranges from £50/month for 16-50 clients, £100/month for up to 100 clients and £250/month for firms with 201-250 clients.
