Christopher Stone (otherwise known as 'the singing accountant') will be competing in the live final of Britain's Got Talent this weekend.

The seemingly shy and retiring AAT qualified accountant will go up against impressionist Paul Burling in Saturday's live final to be screened on ITV1, having impressed the judges this week with a stirring rendition of 'The Impossible Dream' from the musical Man of La Mancha.

"People think that accountants are all white shirts and blue suits and that we just talk about money all the time but we’re not! We’ve got personalities too and I’m hoping my appearance on the show will improve our image," Stone told AccountingWEB in a recent interview.

He's relying on the accounting community to get behind him in the final, so don't forget to tune in and make your vote count!

A dogs life.

I have a funny feeling he may be playing second fiddle to a dog.

Excellent show

All of the finalists were really good, even Janie who had a bad start came through in the end. Any of them could have won, but Spelbound were truly amazing.

Good luck to all of them for the future.

Improving our image?

Heaven forbid...

Oh dear, I need to resign from the 3 charities I'm a trustee of, quit the Athersone Heritage Motor Show which I've been involved in for 8 years (it's on you tube) abandon the local chamber of trade, not go on  six holidays a year, give up the pub, no longer wield the trowel (work that one out...) turf out my 3 kids, sell my MG (no chance)  give up my business, stop buying BP (and Centamin Egypt) shares....

Yeah, right.

Volunteers required

OK - so next year we need 13 accountants in pin striped suits throwing each other over the judges heads and balancing on each others heads (well we should be good at balancing).  Perhaps jugling calculators at the top of the pyramid?

Any volunteers ?
