I note Brightpay's website says the PC desktop version will be available for the forseeable future.

This will be the same foreseeable future that Taxfiler and all other HG Capital acquisitions had. i.e. not long at all.

The cloud version of Brightpay would cost me over £1000 more than Brightpay cost not that many years ago......... Hello Moneysoft

Brightpay's pricing on the cloud version makes it a non-starter at the moment for an accountancy bureau, especially since it lacks some basic functionality such as Modulr integration. It looks like 4 times the price for the volume of payslips we produce. They must be aware of the price differential, so I expect they will try to push the desktop price closer in the next year or two.
Connect is a decent HR tool for small businesses, but it slows up processing so much. I wish they had spent time sorting out basic bureau issues such as this instead of looking to the cloud, but if the latter improves that problem then it may be worth considering once all the desktop functionality has been incorporated into the cloud version.
