Cloud accounting and consolidation software provider AccountsIQ has added a new app to its portfolio of business solutions.
AccountsIQ’s new app, which is available for iOS and Android, has been designed as a business intelligence solution for financial control, aimed at simplifying the process of approving purchase orders and invoices.
The launch draws on the increasing use of mobile apps for bookkeeping and accounting activities, which has recently prompted the creation of multiple solutions such as the new Exact Go or MyFirmsApp’s new MTD app platform.
The app, which is still at an early stage of development, aims to provide businesses with a way to automate their workflow and approve or reject orders and invoices faster and on the go.
In a recent announcement, Darren Cran, UK managing director for the firm, explained the app had been designed to cater for the requirements of those users who are looking for “smart ways to enable business critical decisions to be made quickly in an environment, where all the controls are in place, to ensure good governance.”
To help the final user save as much time as possible, the app links data directly from the AccountsIQ’s cloud platform, thus reducing procurement cycle times.
Users can then add quick notes to each document explaining the decision of its approval or rejection. Other features include the possibility of scanning attachment files and invoicing details including GL coding, position relative to budgets and notes.
An overview page provides an updated summary including the documents that need approval, as well as any the additional notes and other budget details and coding information.
Lee Camp, finance director at Salamanca Bank started using the app recently: “Up until now, the purchase invoice approval was done by email where we could see the invoice and approve it or reject it and make notes, but it tended to clog up our inbox. The app enables us to approve invoices, which makes life a little bit easier,” he said.
