PC manufacturer Dell has extended its printer range with two entry-level 600dpi mono laser printers, the 1130 and 1130n.

Measuring just 360 x 389 x 197 mm, the desktop devices have been designed for businesses with remote offices, small workgroups or for personal use in organisations that need a small, fast, high-quality printer. The basic Dell 1130 model costs £75 and can print up to 18 A4 pages per minute (ppm), while the £119 Ethernet-enabled 1130n can handle up to 24 ppm.

“Businesses and consumers alike are looking for simple, reliable and affordable technology solutions,” said Stephen Burt, Dell’s European imaging business manager.  “The key requirements are for reliable, speedy desktop or network printers that cost less to buy and run, and the new Dell 1130 and 1130n models deliver just that in a compact and stylish package that fits on any desk.”

Dell Consumables

I have a Dell all-in-one inkjet printer which is now a few years old. Dell ink cartridges are only available from Dell and they've really ramped up the cost in the last couple of years. Tesco's substitutes have provided poor print quality and can't be read by the printer manager software. My next printer purchase will be of a make whose cartridges are widely available and competitively priced.
