HMRC has been advising some AccountingWEB members experiencing issues with its CT600 filing software, to lodge accounts via PDF.

If you are affected by this issue, you can prepare and send your accounts to HMRC in PDF format.

To do so, on the final review page attach your PDF accounts. In the ‘other information’ section attach a reasonable excuse form WT1 explaining why your accounts are in this format.

If you continue to experience a problem, the Online Service helpdesk is available to help you.

In the two cases reported on Any Answers, the Revenue told members it would make an exception regarding filing accounts in iXBRL due in these specific cases to the fault.

On January 25, dz651 reported that the Adobe software would not move past the 'Tangible Assets' page.  Yesterday, a member reported the same issue while trying to move past the fixed assets page.

In reply, another member who experienced the same issue, qhas, said that a member of the HMRC technical team had told them to file accounts as a PDF due to the error.

In addition, there are some other issues with the software as per HMRC's service issues page:

  • HMRC is looking into an issue affecting some of the losses information displayed on the Trading losses summary page where previously entered data is not displayed
  • Some users are receiving a System Error message when trying to download the HMRC CT600 tax return
  • In some cases, users are initially unable to download the new HMRC CT Online filing software and are receiving an error message

Suggested solutions to the above are available on the HMRC Corporation Tax service issues page.
