Computer viruses downloaded onto employees’ mobile phone apps could steal details of a business bank account, or run up a massive phone bill, make secret audio recordings of board meetings and send spam messages to customers and suppliers.

These are just some of the scenarios that small and medium-sized businesses could face as more employees use their smartphones, tablets and “pads” to connect to business computer networks, a mobile security expert has warned.
