In a week saturated by wall-to-wall Budget analysis, the pod decided to wash its hands of Hammond's fiscal fiddling and look at what else has been happening in the accounting world.

Topics up for discussion included whether accountants should wade into the murky waters of app advisory, confusing accountancy institute fines, Open Banking, and an introduction to the world of the portfolio finance director. The No Accounting for Taste team welcomes not one but two guests to the pod this week. Returning to the panel is seasoned pod veteran and Burton Sweet partner Nigel Harris, and the team also welcomed debutant Mike Copping. Mike is part-time finance director at Sift, AccountingWEB's parent company, and holds several other FD positions in the role of 'portfolio finance director'.
