BTCSoftware releases Solution Suite update

BTCSoftware has updated its Solution Suite, which brings togerher practice management, corporation tax, accounts production and self-assessment products. The update takes in HMRC's latest exclusions, integrations with FreeAgent and QuickBooks and new features to enhance usability.

The tax implications of bitcoin

Little has been written about the tax implications of bitcoin, but the cryptocurrency is gaining in popularity and value. For this reason Capitalise.com is “calling on accountants everywhere to work together to shape the discourse around cryptocurrencies and lobby financial authorities for guidance,” said the SME funding platform on a recent industry insights post.

GDPR toolkit for accountants

GDPR will take effect in May 2018. To help you prepare, Thomson Reuters has produced a GDPR Toolkit for Accountants with practical information to about the coming changes and explanations of how the new data protection rules will affect accountants and their clients. The guide includes a checklist of actions to take in order to prepare and an FAQ sheet.
