Tech insights: IRIS app, Sage integration and guide to Accountex

This week, Tech Insights features a new app from IRIS, a Sage integration with Microsoft, and a guide to help accountants plan Accountex.

IRIS releases app to improve client experience

IRIS has launched Accountant Go, a practice-branded app designed for accounting practices and their clients.

The app has been designed to improve client experience, providing them with a portal to access important data held in the IRIS practice suite and useful tools.

The app also provides a messaging service that accountants can use to send push notifications emails and SMS to send information, remind clients of events, or for marketing purposes.

Accountant Go connects to other apps such as IRIS Snap, IRIS OpenSpace, IRIS Insight or KashFlow Go can be fully personalised by the accountant.

"There are a myriad of ways to improve productivity and efficiency across the practice. Utilising technology to add value to the client experience is where competitive advantage can be gained,” explained Sion Lewis, CEO at IRIS Accountancy Solutions.

“Practices need more than a web portal. They need a way of communicating with clients in line with the experience we demand as consumers. The Accountant Go App is already available on Apple Store and will be available on Android store in the next few weeks.”

Sage integrates with Microsoft Outlook

Sage has extended its integration with Microsoft Outlook to provide a quicker, more frictionless payment experience.

The feature enables Sage Business Cloud customers to get paid faster, reducing late payments and maintaining cashflow.

The integration will be available from June 2018 for Sage Business Cloud Accounting customers in the UK and will use invoice payments powered by Stripe.

To use the service, Sage customers will need to click "send via email" to send the invoice through Sage software to the end-customer.

End-users will then be able to pay invoices from inside their inbox, with a ‘one-click’ payment system and payments will automatically reconcile within Sage Business Cloud.

"We know business owners don’t want to spend time chasing late payments – jeopardising important customer relationships," said Mike Ammerlaan, director, product marketing ecosystem at Microsoft Corp.

"Integrations from Sage, which make use of Stripe functionality, make the payment process easier and simpler to navigate – increasing the chance of immediate payment and reducing the administration involved around late payments."

MyFirmsApp guide to Accountex

MyFirmsApp has created a One Stop Guide for accountants visiting Accountex 2018. The guide offers tips to plan the journey, from finding where to stay to the best sessions to attend.

Additionally, MyFirmsApp has developed an Accountex app that works in combination with the guide and includes information on all the keynote sessions, seminars and workshops.

The app also includes tools such as a mileage tracker and receipt manager to help track any receipts and prepare expenses claims. The app is available for iOS and Android.
