Sage has released a new personal tax account viewer and Pandle and MyFirmsApp look ahead to a year of changes.

Sage releases HMRC API solution

Sage has announced the release of a new Personal Tax Account Viewer. This solution is available to Sage Personal Tax and Sage Personal Tax Online users.

The viewer enables users to view client data held by HRMC, such as pension, NI contributions and employment details. To access this service, users need a free Sage One Partner Edition login, a government gateway account and a form 64-8 authorisation from the client.

Users cannot make changes to HMRC records from the viewer, but other Sage solutions, such as Sage Personal Tax and Sage Payroll provide the ability to update this data.

Pandle MTD survey

Pandle has shared the results of its MTD survey for small businesses. The results reveal that almost half of small business owners believe the new MTD will be more confusing than current self assessment system.

The other main concerns raised by the 1,000 small business owners surveyed were the fear of not being ‘tech savvy’ enough to use the new system and the belief that it will create more work for them.
