Tech Lowdown: AccountsIQ, Senta and Zoho Books

AccountsIQ unveils new app and productivity tools

AccountsIQ has released a number of new tools including a budget import function, a cost accruals feature as well as other reporting and productivity features.

Answering the requests of its user community, the provider of accounting and consolidation software has also released a new expenses app for iOS and Android smartphones. The app automates employee expense claims capture and purchase approval processes, and it is integrated with the main AccountsIQ finance system.

In a recent company release, the financial management platform has also announced it will be offering a new API integration with the TransferMate Global Payments service and two-factor authentication.

Senta releases new features

Senta has enhanced its practice management solution with new features. The practice management solution now offers services placeholders to enable users to send a list of services offered to a client into an email, or when generating a letter.

Client folders are also available for testing in the new client portal. The feature, which is available on-request, allows clients will be able to view the folders that contain documents visible to them.

The company has also announced a price reduction in its AML checks, carried out by Credas, which include ID check, PEPs check and sanctions check.  

Senta has also announced upcoming features including new charts and visualisations, improved client onboarding, with professional clearance, engagement letters and onscreen engagement and client profitability tools.

Zoho Books adds new set of features

Zoho Books has announced a new bulk update feature that allows users to filter multiple transactions such as credit notes, purchase orders, expenses, bills and vendor credits and update the accounts at once.

For users who want their sales transactions to be approved by two or more approvers, Zoho has added the possibility to set up a multi-level approval process for invoices, sales orders, estimates and credit notes.

The accounting software also offers a new option for admins and approvers to reject transactions if they contain incorrect data and provide a reason that the submitter will be able to view in the comments and history section.

Additionally, Zoho Books has enhanced its templates to allow users to edit shipping charge labels in sales orders and change the font size of email templates.

Domestic Reverse Charge live in Xero

Xero has announced the Domestic Reverse Charge (DRC) is now live. The new DRC feature can be used for the products and services affected by the regulation, including mobile phones, computer chips, wholesale gas and electricity and more.

The new feature includes four new taxes to help comply with DRC, automatic DRC calculations in invoices, bills and credit notes and automatic DRC updates on Making Tax Digital returns.

IRIS buys Innervision

IRIS Software Group continued its parade of acquisitons this month with the purchase of Innervision, a specialist developer of lease accounting software.

With new accounting standards for lease accounting coming into effect from January 2019, IRIS has boosted its capability and user base in this area by adding Innervision’s 100 customers and to its portfolio. Innervision was the company’s fourth acquisition in 2019, IRIS reported.

The software will help organisations to centralise the records in their lease portfolios, so the new accounting treatments and any subsequent chanes can be applied to every active lease., and every change to those leases within their organisation. Innervision also supplies consultancy services to support its lease accounting software.
