JustAccounts launch contract swap feature for IR35

Following concerns of the new IR35 rules coming into play next month, accounting software provider JustAccounts has released JustSwitch – a tool to assist with off-payroll contract issues.

JustSwitch is aimed at helping contractors who, as of 6 April, will need to change the terms of their contracts, and move from their own limited companies to umbrella contracts. According to JustAccount, JustSwitch is a streamlined switch process that allows users to alternate between limited and umbrella contracts by exclusively using the software.

Essentially, the software allows users to switch between these two contract types in one session, without requiring paperwork, Excel spreadsheets, or other software.

Slide rebrands as SlideBy

After a successful six months since the application’s release, banking cashflow forecasting app Slide rebranded itself as SlideBy on 20 February this year.

In the space of half a year, the platform has been downloaded a total of 1,400 times. According to the Cashfac-owned app, “As Slide increased in popularity, [it] decided that the name ‘SlideBy’ better reflected the way users were interacting with the app, its ease of use and how it is designed to minimise friction.”

As a further addition, SlideBy has added a new feature allowing the app to populate users’ cashflow forecast with data from a wider variety of transactions, including everyday “regular” transactions. All current SlideBy users will have to update their app as a result of the new changes.

Current SlideBy banking connections are restricted to Barclays, First Direct, HSBC and Lloyds. However, users can pre-register their interest for additional banks to be considered for future integrations.

Croner-i release Navigate Audit service

Tax and accounting information service Croner-i has recently released a Navigate Audit service to assist auditors with their audits by simplifying audit compliance. The new service includes an updated PCAS suite and a custom, macro-free Excel tool.

According to Croner-i’s head of audit and accounting content Julia Boyer, “The Private Company Audit System (PCAS) tool has been redeveloped with a web-based tailoring questionnaire leading to a macro-free Excel file. This will enable greater editorial flexibility and efficiency when used by auditors, without the need for complex software.”

The service covers the primary areas of compliance audit and assurance assignments, including acceptance, engagement, delivery and reporting. Navigate Audit uses tools such as guidance videos and decision trees to assist with more complex audit areas.

Navigate Audit content is set up based on the entity category: private company, small company, charity, pension scheme, club and academy. A consultation with external reviews is required for the service.
