Xero unveils new certification
Xero has launched a new six-hour course that will be accessible to accountants and bookkeepers in the UK who want to learn more about the impact of cloud accounting technology on the profession.
The Equivalency online course, launched in partnership with 15 professional bodies and organisations, including AAT, IAB, and Reed, is available to accountancy professionals outside the Xero community. The course includes how to set up and run Xero on a day-to-day basis and also covers topics such as banking and projects.
“It’s never been more vital for the accountants and bookkeepers of tomorrow to get a good grounding in online accounting. These courses are about so much more than learning how to use software,” said Mike Day, director UK education sector at Xero.
“In completing our course, accountants and bookkeepers will be in a far greater position to get a job at a progressive practice. This will also help firms enormously as they seek out the right talent to take their business to the next level.”

Senta beefs up practice management solutions
Senta has recently added new features to enhance client communication via its practice management solution.
A new per-user client list enables accountants to change the visibility of their client lists depending on the user and provides administrators with the ability to make lists available for everyone. The solution has also been updated to allow the outbox to be filtered by email address.
The company has also announced a new letter generator as a beta feature available on request. The beta feature allows users to generate letters using a DOCX template that the user can upload into Senta, adding placeholders to pull in client information. The DOCX templates can also contain formatting and graphics.
Among other upcoming features, Senta has announced the development of a new client portal, new charts and visualisations and client profitability tools to help users identify their most profitable clients and find clients of similar types.
