Nearly half of all European companies surveyed by McAfee are struggling to keep up with the software patches issued to protect their networks from attack.
Applying software patches correctly is one of the greatest security risks an organisation can face, but when McAfee questioned more than 600 IT managers at large firms across Europe, it found a worrying degree of confusion about software patching.
Nearly half (45%) of those questioned said that their IT infrastructure was never 100% protected from vulnerabilities. And more than a third of respondents said they did not know how many patches they had applied to their systems in the previous six months and 58% had no idea how much installing the patches cost their businesses.
