About this session

Sage executives discuss the experiences of small businesses and their accountants, focusing on how to build for recovery.

With hundreds of thousands of business and accounting customers in the UK, Sage has a unique understanding of the challenges they have faced in recent months with the Covid-19 outbreak. Senior product managers Michael Office and Chris Downing will delve into the key issues that are causing the most trouble for accountants and their clients at this time.

With a key theme of ‘trading out of trouble’, this interview will focus on recovery strategies and the hurdles to overcome, with real life examples of issues such as:

  • Sudden loss of income and cashflow
  • Finding out what support is available and getting hold of it
  • Getting a handle on  cashflow, especially for business support loan applications
  • Difficult conversations ahead with suppliers, customers and staff.

While small businesses are having to cope with the slow unwinding of lockdown measures, accountancy practices have a vital role in helping them overcome their problems. The fireside chat will include an extensive discussion of the practical steps accountants can take to deal with different situations and an opportunity for live viewers to put their own questions to Michael and Chris.
